memories of Martin

Created by geraldine 3 years ago

I have known Martin since i was a little girl. That makes me a lucky person.

my first memory of Martin is a tall man with squared glasses ans a beard. i was 10 and it was the first time i would spent holiday in NB with the Buckle's family. Martin was cultivated he could speak about bees, french politics or any subjects you could share with him. he was also peace-loving and i think i have never seen him upset. I spent a year with the buckle's family and i had the best english teacher ever  : Pam and Martin. I went to theater, to Christmas concert (martin was playing french horn). it has been one of the  best year of my life. I consider them (Pam Martin, Liz, Nicholas and Katy) as part of my family "an english branch".

in 2019 we 'skyped' Pam and Martin to announce them an unexpected yet amazing news : i was pregnant at the age of 46. it will be one of my best memory; i could see Martin had understood the news  and was taping on Pam's shoulder while she was saying "c'est incroyable"! .

Loïse our little girl will never meet Martin but i'll make sure she'll know what a wonderful man he was. He would have been a great english grandfather to her.

We will miss him but we'll drive to NB with pleasure so as to share memories with people he loved and loved him back.
